We are pleased to announce our newest class, Native Plant Design: Blending Beauty and Function. The class will take place on Saturday, June 4, 2022, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Forest Green branch of the Dallas Public Library located at 9619 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243.

This class will be taught by guest instructor Patrick Dickinson, an expert horticulturist and landscape designer. Patrick holds over 20 years of experience in landscape design and management, working at both Texas government agencies and private companies. With an eye for design and a keen knowledge of plants, Dickinson designs creative outdoor living spaces that are not only beautiful, but easy to maintain with maximum water efficiency. His areas of expertise include plant selection, landscape water use efficiency, rainwater harvesting, irrigation design, drip irrigation, and new technology. He often shares his wide range of knowledge by conducting CEU training for landscape architects, licensed irrigators, as well as nurserymen and rainwater harvesting specialists.

This class is open to all ages and levels (children must be accompanied by an adult and each participant must be individually registered).

You will learn:

  • Insights from cutting-edge landscape designers and how to find the balance between sensational and sustainable.
  • How to incorporate native plantings into any design style – traditional, cottage, modern, or architectural.
  • Key strategies from natural systems to control your landscape while enjoying the dynamic, natural beauty of native plants.
